Workshop: Artists' films

LUX, Shacklewell Studios, London
Wednesday 2nd March, 2011

A half-day workshop aimed primarily at librarians and archivists and aims to cover the scope of artists' films, what makes them special and where to find information about films, sourcing copies and managing collections.

We are lucky to have two speakers who have first hand experience of managing film collections as well as a representative from LUX to talk about their work. The afternoon will commence with a talk from Dr Tracey Warr about Artists' films from an academic's perspective. Followed by talks from Steven Ball Research Fellow at Central St Martins College of Art and Design, and Gustavo Grandal Montero, Collection Development Librarian at Chelsea and Camberwell. The afternoon will conclude with a talk by a representative from LUX on the work that they do.

If you are new to this area or want to learn more about how to manage an Artists' film collection we hope this will be the event for you.
